Acrotriche rigida is a low growing shrub that belongs to the Ericaceae family and is native to New South Wales. It grows in dense, intricately branched clumps and can reach a height of 1.5 meters. The leaves are stiff and lanceolate with whitish color and prominent veins. The flowers are green and usually appear in groups of 4-7 on a spike. The plant blooms from July to September. The fruits are small and round with a flat top and covered in short white hairs. This shrub is typically found in dry forests or scrub areas on sandstone or granite slopes.
