Arbutus canariensis is a species of shrub or tree in the heath family that is endemic to the Canary Islands of Spain. It is threatened by habitat loss and has a hybrid, Arbutus x thuretiana Demoly, which is naturalised at Jardin botanique de la Villa Thuret. The hybrid is known for its smooth, reddish-brown bark that exfoliates in the spring to reveal a pistachio-green bark which darkens and turns reddish again.
