Impatiens johnsiana is a new flowering plant species found in the Kattimattom Hills near Chembra Peak in Wayanad. It belongs to the Balsaminaceae family and has been named after John C. Jacob, a well-known naturalist who dedicated his life to promoting the conservation of Western Ghats' biodiversity. This discovery highlights the importance of preserving the unique flora and fauna of this region.
