Saurauia merrillii is a plant species found in the Philippines and belongs to the family Actinidiaceae. It was named after American botanist Elmer Drew Merrill by Adolph Daniel Edward Elmer, who first described the species. This bush can grow up to 3 meters tall and has variable-sized leaves with pointed tips that curve backwards. The leaves are paler on the lower surface and have 9-13 pairs of secondary veins. The plant produces pendulous inflorescences with 6 flowers on a 3-5 centimeter long peduncle. Its flowers have both male and female reproductive structures, with 5 oblong sepals and a white corolla. The plant's fertilized ovaries have three hairy chambers containing clusters of seeds. The pollen of Saurauia merrillii is shed as permanent tetrads.
