Hibbertia tricornis is a small, prostrate shrublet with delicate branches and yellow flowers. It is a member of the Dilleniaceae family and is only known from three specimens collected in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. The plant has elliptic leaves and 19 to 24 stamens arranged in groups around two densely scaly carpels. It was first described in 2010 and is classified as "vulnerable" under the Northern Territory Government Territory Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act. It is found growing between rocks in woodland.
