Hibbertia alopecota is a low shrub with yellow flowers that is native to the Northern Territory. It has elliptic to lance-shaped leaves and can grow up to 60 cm tall. The flowers are arranged singly in leaf axils and have 16-24 stamens. This plant was first described in 2010 and is found on sedimentary rocks in sandy soil on the lower slopes of the western escarpment of the Arnhem Land Plateau. Its name, alopecota, means "fox-ears" in reference to the hairs on its outer sepal lobes. It typically flowers from February to August.
