This is an annual herb producing a branching stem up to about 40 centimeters tall. The leaves are up to 10 centimeters long and are divided into lobes. The inflorescence is a cluster of yellow flowers with five petals each. The fruit is a capsule containing many tiny seeds.

Mentzelia hispida is a species of flowering plant in the family Loasaceae, native to Mexico. It is an annual herb with a branching stem up to 40 centimeters tall and lobed leaves up to 10 centimeters long. The inflorescence is a cluster of yellow flowers with five petals each, and the fruit is a capsule containing many tiny seeds. It is commonly known as pega ropa, or "sticks to clothing" in Spanish. It grows in scrub and woodland habitats.
