Philadelphus satsumi, also known as baika-utsugi, is a flowering plant that belongs to the Hydrangeaceae family. It is native to Japan and can be found in various regions such as Honshū, Shikoku, and Kyūshū. This deciduous shrub produces beautiful white flowers with four petals. It is commonly found in the southern parts of Iwate Prefecture and the northern parts of Kagoshima Prefecture. Philadelphus satsumi is a unique and beautiful addition to the flora of Japan.
