Anigozanthos manglesii, also known as the red-and-green kangaroo paw, is a plant species native to Western Australia and is the state's floral emblem. Its unique appearance and striking colors have made it a symbol of the region, with its flowers blooming from August to November. While it is not threatened, it is protected under state legislation and requires a license for collection from the wild. It is also popular as a cut flower due to its long-lasting qualities. This plant has two subspecies and can hybridize with other Anigozanthos species. It is often grown under glass or with winter protection and has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Anigozanthos manglesii is also featured on the coat of arms of Western Australia and has been depicted on Australian stamps.
