Commelina africana, also known as the common yellow commelina, is a widespread flowering plant found in Sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, Réunion, and the Arabian Peninsula. It has also been introduced to India. This plant is occasionally consumed as a leaf vegetable and is sometimes fed to rabbits and pigs. There are several accepted subtaxa of this species, each with its own specific range and distribution.
