Polygonum albanicum, also known as Nejca shqiptare in Albanian, is a flowering herbaceous plant that belongs to the knotweed family. It is primarily found in Albania and its neighboring countries. The species was first discovered and described in 1921 by Hungarian florist and plant systematics expert Sándor Jávorka. It was rarely collected and was only mentioned as a note in Flora Europaea. However, after World War II, it was collected in central Yugoslavia and in 1960, it was found in northern Greece for the first time. Polygonum albanicum is an annual plant that can grow up to 40-50 cm tall with thin, pointed leaves and white flowers that bloom from June to October.
