Eriogonum siskiyouense, also known as Siskiyou buckwheat, is a rare plant species found in far northern California. It is only found in the area between Mount Eddy and the Scott Mountains, within the southern Klamath Mountains System. This plant grows in serpentine soils at elevations of 1,600-2,800 meters in yellow pine forests. It is a perennial herb that forms mats up to 0.5 meters wide and has small, rounded leaves covered in gray woolly fibers. The flowering stem has a whorl of leaflike bracts and is topped with bright yellow flowers arranged in a spherical cluster. Eriogonum siskiyouense is an important part of the local flora and is found within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
