Eriogonum niveum, also known as snow buckwheat, is a flowering plant native to the Pacific Northwest of North America. It can be found in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and typically blooms in late summer. This plant is quite variable in appearance, with spreading stems and woolly-textured leaves. Its inflorescence consists of small white, pink, or reddish flowers. Native American groups used this plant for medicinal purposes, and it is also utilized by various animals in its natural habitat. Eriogonum niveum can be cultivated and is often used for soil stabilization and in xeriscaping.
