Eriogonum arborescens, also known as Santa Cruz Island buckwheat, is a woody shrub that can grow up to 15 decimetres in height and 30 decimetres in diameter. It has narrow, fuzzy green leaves and frilly inflorescences of light pink flowers. This species is found in coastal sage scrub and chaparral habitats on the northern Channel Islands of California. It is valued for its role in supporting butterflies and native bees, and is often cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and for habitat restoration projects.
