Abronia fragrans, also known as sweet sand-verbena, is a species of sand verbena with a sprawling growth habit and sticky, hairy stems. Its flowers, which open in the evening and close in the morning, are usually white but can also be green, lavender, or pink. This plant is found in prairies, plains, and savannas in the western United States and Mexico. It is often grown in gardens for its attractive blossoms and fragrance, and is also used medicinally by Indigenous peoples for various ailments. There is some debate over its classification, with some considering it a separate species from Abronia elliptica.
