Nepenthes singalana is a species of tropical pitcher plant that is found only on the island of Sumatra. It grows at high elevations of 2000-2900 meters above sea level and is closely related to two other species, N. diatas and N. spathulata. In 2001, a study was conducted on the Nepenthes species of Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia, which resulted in a cladogram showing the relationship between different species. N. singalana was found to be part of "Clade 3" along with three other species. Natural hybrids involving N. singalana have also been recorded, including crosses with N. aristolochioides, N. bongso, N. gymnamphora, and N. inermis. There is also a possible hybrid with N. spathulata.
