Nepenthes adnata is a small, tropical pitcher plant that is native to the Indonesian province of West Sumatra. It grows at elevations of 600 to 1200 m above sea level and has a specific epithet, adnata, which means "broadly attached" in Latin, referring to the base of its leaves. It was first collected in 1957 and described in 1986, but its description was later revised in 1994. This species has a unique appearance, with a cylindrical stem and sessile leaves that have an adnate base and an obtuse to acute apex. Its pitchers are small and have fringed wings, a round mouth, and a cylindrical peristome with indistinct teeth. N. adnata is found in the mountains of the Tjampo river region, where it grows on mossy sandstone cliffs in moist, shaded areas. It is closely related to N. tentaculata and N. gracillima, but its closest relatives are likely other Sumatran species such as N. gymnamphora, N. longifolia, and N. albomarginata. This species is considered threatened due to its small population and limited range, and its
