Dianthus thunbergii, also known as Thunberg's wild pink, is a flowering plant native to the southwestern Cape region of South Africa. It can be found on rocky slopes from Swellendam to the Eastern Cape Province. This perennial plant grows up to 40cm tall and has blue-grey linear leaves. Its inflorescence typically has 2-5 pink or white flowers that bloom in the spring and summer months. D. thunbergii is closely related to other species such as Dianthus albens and Dianthus caespitosus, but can be distinguished by its longer calyx, narrower lobes, and other physical characteristics.
