Dianthus monspessulanus, also known as the fringed pink, is a perennial plant belonging to the Dianthus genus and Caryophyllaceae family. Its name is derived from the Greek words for divine and flower, while its species name means "from Montpellier". It typically grows to be 30-60 centimeters tall and has green, erect stems with opposite, linear leaves. The flowers are hermaphrodite and have five pink or white petals with fringed edges. This plant can be found in various countries in Europe, including Albania, Italy, France, and Spain, and thrives in dry grasslands, woodlands, and heathlands. It prefers well-drained soil and sunny locations.
