Lophocereus schottii, also known as the senita cactus, is a type of cactus found in southern Arizona and north-western Mexico. It is also found in Baja California and Sonora. This cactus has been given different scientific names, including Pilocereus schottii and Pachycereus schottii. One of the unique features of this cactus is its mutualistic relationship with the senita moth. The senita moth is the only pollinator of the cactus and depends on it for reproduction. This symbiotic relationship highlights the importance of the senita cactus in its ecosystem.
