Cylindropuntia imbricata, also known as the cane cholla, is a cactus found in the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It can be found in cooler regions compared to other cacti and is primarily found in arid areas in states such as Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. This cactus is known for its shrubby or tree-like size, distinctive silhouette, and long-lasting yellowish fruits. It is considered a noxious invasive species in Australia and is often used as an ornamental plant. The plant provides food and shelter for various animals and has cultural significance for some indigenous groups.
