Suaeda vermiculata is a halophyte plant that belongs to the Amaranthaceae family. It is a shrub that can reach a height of 0.4-1m and has woody stems at its base. This plant is naturally found in areas affected by salt, making it salt-tolerant. Its distribution includes regions in Africa, the Middle East, and parts of India. It can also be found in the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. Suaeda vermiculata is commonly found in coastal bushlands, saline sites, and desert wadis, and can grow in altitudes up to 400 meters. In southern Africa, it is often found in association with Tamarix usneoides and Odyssea paucinervis.
