Halothamnus iranicus is a species of plant that belongs to the subfamily Salsoloideae of the family Amaranthaceae. It is a sub-shrub with blueish-green branches and unpleasant smelling leaves. The flowers are small and have oblong-ovate tepals, with tapering stigmas. The fruit is winged and has a cylindrical tube with a sharp-edged rim and small pits. This species was first described in 1981 and is found in southern Iran and southwest Pakistan, growing in mild winter climates on rocky and stony soils. It is part of the Halothamnus genus and is endemic to this region.
