Atriplex tatarica is a plant species found in Middle and western Central Asia, Asia Minor, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. It has a white branched taproot and can grow up to 1 meter in height. Its leaves are petiolate and vary in shape, and it produces both female and male flowers. The plant exhibits heterocarpy, with two different types of fruit. It has a wide distribution, including parts of the Eastern United States. A. tatarica is typically found in coastal solonchaks and has a high tolerance for nutrient and salinity gradients. It is also commonly found in urban areas and along roadways due to its seeds easily adhering to rubber tires.
