Atriplex lentiformis, also known as quail bush or big saltbrush, is a species of saltbush native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It can be found in a variety of habitats with saline or alkaline soils, such as salt flats, coastlines, and desert scrub. This shrub can reach up to three meters in height and has gray-green leaves with toothed or rippled edges. It produces male and female flowers and blooms in June and July. Atriplex lentiformis is an important food source for the saltbush sootywing butterfly and is used in restoration projects for riparian habitats. However, it faces competition from invasive species such as Tamarisk and tumbleweed. In ideal conditions, it can grow up to 3.5 meters tall and wide, forming a large, impenetrable thicket.
