Atriplex cinerea, commonly known as grey saltbush, coast saltbush, barilla or truganini, is a hexaploid plant species in the family Amaranthaceae. It is a prostrate to erect, heavily branched, leafy shrub growing up to 1.8m high and up to 2.5 m wide, with silver or grey-green leaves. It is found in sheltered coastal areas and around salt lakes in the Australian states of Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales, as well as Lord Howe Island and New Zealand. It is used to help stabilise soils, prevent erosion and revegetate/rehabilitate at risk areas, and is also potentially useful in agriculture. It is not considered threatened.
