Lampranthus glaucus is a plant species native to South Africa that has become popular in gardens worldwide. This compact shrub has succulent leaves and produces vibrant orange to yellow flowers from August to October. While it is beloved by gardeners, it is considered an invasive species in Western Australia and New Zealand. The flowers, known as noon flowers, open fully in the sun. This plant thrives in well-drained sandy soils but struggles in clay soils. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 and has since been reclassified and given various synonyms.
