Didymaotus is a unique genus of flowering plant that belongs to the Aizoaceae family and consists of only one species, Didymaotus lapidiformis. This plant, also known as stone plant or beeskloutjie, is native to the arid regions of Tanqua Karoo near Ceres in the Western Cape. Its name is derived from the Greek words for double flower, as it produces two flowers, and stone-like, due to its ability to blend in with its surroundings.
