Acrodon caespitosus, also known as the Potberg tiptoothfig, is a succulent plant native to South Africa. It is the largest species in its genus, growing up to 30 cm in height and 60 cm in diameter. It has triangular leaves with 3-12 teeth on the keel and no teeth on the margins. The plant produces solitary flowers with white or pink petals and purple stripes. Its fruits are borne on stalks and have a unique closing mechanism that allows them to receive rainwater. This species is found in the Western Cape of South Africa, specifically near the Breede River and is threatened by invasive species in its habitat. While its risk of extinction has not been officially assessed, conservation efforts are needed to protect this unique plant.
