Capparis fascicularis, also known as the zigzag caper-bush, is a plant in the Capparaceae family that is native to Africa. It has multiple synonyms and is divided into four varieties. It is found in various regions of Africa, including South Africa, Mozambique, and Ethiopia. This species typically grows in deciduous bushland, grassland, and riverine forests. It is a scrambling shrub or climber with hooked spines on the stem. The fragrant flowers are white and produced on leafless side branchlets. The fruit is spherical and ripens to a purple-black color. The leaves of this plant are sold as food in markets in northern Nigeria. Capparis fascicularis is also an important food source for the larvae of the butterflies Belenois creona and Eronia cleodora.
