Moricandia arvensis, also known as the purple mistress, is a flowering plant in the Brassicaceae family. It is found in the western Mediterranean region, including the Canary Islands, northern Africa, and parts of Europe. This plant has a unique carbon fixation system called C2 photosynthesis, which is a combination of C3 and C4 processes. It has been introduced to other areas such as France, Corsica, and Sardinia.
