Draba aureola, also known as the Mt. Lassen draba or Mt. Lassen whitlow-grass, is a flowering plant in the Brassicaceae family. It is native to the Cascade Range in western North America and typically grows at elevations above 2000 meters. This perennial plant can be found in rocky areas, such as volcanic cliffs and scree, and has short, stout stems covered in stiff hairs. Its leaves grow in a dense basal clump and are fat, fleshy, and covered in a carpet-like coat of stiff, light-colored hairs. The plant's inflorescence may rest directly on the leaves or be erect above them, and can contain up to 80 small, yellow flowers. The fruit is a wavy-edged, hairy silique that is about a centimeter long and half a centimeter wide.
