Boechera ophira, also known as Ophir Pass rockcress, is a rare flowering plant in the mustard family that is endemic to Nevada in the United States. It is found in Nye and Lander Counties, specifically on the crest of the Toiyabe Range. This long-lived perennial herb has hairy stems and narrow leaves, and produces purple flowers in racemes. Its fruit is a straight silique up to 4 centimeters long. Boechera ophira grows in subalpine climates on clay soils covered in loose quartzite scree, often in the presence of sagebrush, Leptodactylon pungens, and various grasses. With only five known occurrences and fewer than 200 individuals, this plant is considered rare and its habitat is difficult to explore, leaving the possibility for more undiscovered populations.
