Phacelia nashiana, also known as Charlotte's phacelia, is a plant species found only in California. It grows in the transition area between the Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi Mountains and the Mojave Desert. This annual herb has a small stem covered in black hairs and produces shallowly lobed leaves. Its inflorescence is a coiling cluster of bell-shaped flowers, each with a deep blue color and white spots. The flowers also have protruding stamens with white anthers. This unique plant can be found in scrub and woodland areas, as well as on granite mountain slopes.
