Cryptantha pterocarya is a species of flowering plant in the borage family native to the western United States. It is an annual herb with linear to oblong leaves up to 5 centimeters long and herbage that is very hairy to bristly. The inflorescence is a length of developing fruits tipped with one or more open flowers with a white five-lobed corolla. The fruit is a nutlet which is often, but not always, winged. It grows in many types of habitat and can reach up to 40 centimeters in height.
