Brunnera macrophylla, also known as Siberian bugloss or great forget-me-not, is a flowering plant native to the Caucasus region. It is a hardy perennial that can grow up to 18 inches tall and has heart-shaped leaves on slender stems. The plant produces small blue flowers in the spring and is often used as groundcover in shady areas. It is easy to care for and can self-seed, making it a popular choice for gardens. The plant's name, which means "larger-leaved" in Latin, reflects its characteristic large leaves. Two popular cultivars, 'Hadspen Cream' and 'Jack Frost', have received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Genetic evidence suggests that Brunnera macrophylla may be representative of ancient flora found in forests around the Black Sea.
