Goodenia virgata is a flowering plant that is native to the Tanami Desert in central Australia. It is a small herb with linear to lance-shaped leaves and yellow flowers arranged in racemes. The plant grows up to 40 cm tall and blooms from May to November. It was first described in 1980 and its specific epithet, virgata, refers to its long, slender twigs. This species can be found in sandy soil in the southern Tanami Desert in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. It is not considered a threatened species by the governments of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
