Wahlenbergia gloriosa, also known as royal bluebell, is a perennial herb in the bluebell family Campanulaceae. It has egg-shaped leaves near the base of its stem, linear leaves higher up, and a single purple flower with a tube-shaped base. This flower is the floral emblem of the Australian Capital Territory. It is a frost-hardy ground cover that grows best in cooler parts of Australia and can be propagated through division, cuttings, or seeds. In 1982, it was chosen as the floral emblem of the A.C.T. due to its occurrence in the area, horticultural merit, and potential for use in naturalistic and stylised representations. A postage stamp featuring the royal bluebell was issued in 1986.
