It is a perennial herb with a woody base and grows up to 1.5 feet tall. The leaves are linear and have a spiny tip. The flowers are yellow and daisy-like with a yellow center. Xanthisma spinulosum is a drought tolerant plant and can be found in dry, sandy areas of western North America. It is a popular choice for gardens and is easy to grow and maintain.
