Stephanomeria pauciflora, also known as brownplume wirelettuce, is a perennial herb or bushy subshrub found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It can be found in various habitats, including deserts, woodlands, and plains. The plant has sturdy stems with spreading branches and mostly basal, ephemeral leaves. The flower heads are located along the stems and have cylindrical bases covered in hairless phyllaries. Each flower head contains 3 to 6 florets with elongated tubes and flat pink ligules. The fruit is an achene with a cluster of plumelike pappus bristles, which can be brown or white. The plant's name, pauciflora, refers to its few flowers.
