Senecio lamarckianus, commonly known as bois de chèvre, is a species of flowering plant in the aster family. Endemic to Mauritius, it is named after the French philosopher, botanist and zoologist Jean-Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet, Chevalier de Lamarck. It is a many-branched perennial shrub that grows to be 2-3 m tall, with oblong leather-like leaves that are silvery greenish colored and densely covered with white hairs. It has numerous flower heads which cluster into a flat top, each on its own flower stalk, and achenes that can vary between 1.2-1.8 mm in length. It is found in dry mountainous regions around the summit peaks of the island, but is now very rare.
