Senecio keniophytum is a creeping perennial plant that is endemic to Mount Kenya in Kenya. It is a type of groundsel and can be found in the Afro-alpine zone of the mountain. Unlike its giant relatives, Senecio keniophytum is much smaller, growing only up to 13 centimetres tall. It has tough, white stems and oblong leaves with purplish bases. The leaves have teeth on the edges and are covered in green and white hairs on the upper side. The plant produces solitary, yellow flowers on stalks that are covered in hairs. Its fruits are ribbed achenes and it reproduces through a pappus. Senecio keniophytum is a horizontal plant, with stems that send shoots above and roots below. It is only found at high altitudes of 3,700 to 4,500 metres on Mount Kenya.
