Senecio californicus, also known as California ragwort, is a flowering plant in the aster family. It is an annual herb native to Central and Southern California and Baja California, and can be found in coastal strand, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral habitats. It typically grows to be 10-40 centimeters tall, with linear or lance-shaped leaves and one to ten flower heads containing yellow disc and ray florets. Its bloom period is from March to May and it is often seen on sand dunes and in the Peninsular and Transverse Ranges.
