Rafinesquia neomexicana, also known as desert chicory, plumeseed, or New Mexico plumeseed, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is an annual plant found in dry climate areas of the southwestern deserts of the US and northwestern deserts of Mexico. It has white showy flowers, milky sap, and weak, zigzag stems that may grow through other shrubs for support. The plant is typically between 15 and 50 centimeters tall and has pinnate leaves with narrow lobes. Its white flowerheads appear between May and June and are composed of strap-shaped ray flowers. It is found in sandy or gravelly soils in creosote bush scrub and Joshua Tree woodland plant communities in the Mojave Desert and Sonoran Desert. Similar species include R. californica and Calycoseris wrightii. It is found in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Baja California, and Sonora.
