Pterocaulon sphacelatum, also known as apple bush or fruit-salad plant, is a flowering plant found in Australia. It is a small shrub with pink to purple flowers and is endemic to the country. The plant has stiff upright stems covered in short brownish hairs and oblong to lance-shaped leaves. Its flower heads are oval to globe-shaped and the fruit is a brown achene covered in bristles. The plant is used in Australian Aboriginal medicine and was first described by Jacques Labillardière as Monenteles sphacelatus. It is found in various habitats, including disturbed sites and roadsides, in Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and the Northern Territory.
