Micropus amphibolus is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as Mount Diablo cottonseed. It is endemic to California, found in the San Francisco Bay Area and nearby mountains, and grows in open, rocky habitats. It is an annual herb with a thin coating of wispy, webby fibers, and produces one or more small, erect stems. The inflorescence is a spherical flower head a few millimeters wide, resembling a tiny cotton boll due to its woolly flowers and maturing fruits.
