Malacothrix junakii, also known as Anacapa Island desert-dandelion, is a rare flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is only found on Anacapa Island, one of the Channel Islands in California, and is known from only two locations. This annual herb has a leafy stem and lance-shaped leaves with toothed or lobed blades. Its inflorescence contains several flower heads with yellow ray florets. This species was first described in 1997 and is at risk due to the presence of non-native plants on the island.
