Malacothrix coulteri, also known as snake's head or snake's head desertdandelion, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is found in the southwestern United States and has been introduced to southern South America. This annual herb grows in various habitats such as deserts, grasslands, and chaparral. It has a waxy, upright stem and toothed or non-toothed leaves near the base. The flower heads are arranged in an array and have green bracts with dark markings. The ray florets are yellow or white and about a centimeter long.
