Klasea pusilla, also known as ورخة قزمة in Arabic, is a species of plant in the Klasea genus (previously known as Serratula). It is native to the Eastern Mediterranean region and is characterized by its thistle-like flower head. This plant typically blooms from April to June. It can be found in Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Jordan, specifically in Mediterranean semi-steppe shrubland. A 2014 study found that extracts from the whole plant of K. pusilla have a significant repellent effect against the adult silverleaf whitefly, an invasive pest in agriculture. This highlights the potential uses of this plant in pest control.
