Hieracium gronovii, also known as queendevil, hairy hawkweed, beaked hawkweed, and Gronovius' hawkweed, is a plant species found in North America. It belongs to the tribe Cichorieae in the Asteraceae family and is commonly found in various regions of the continent, from Ontario to Florida, the Dominican Republic, and Panamá. This plant can be found in dry, rocky areas and open woods, as well as in fields. It is an herb that can grow up to 80 cm tall, with a hairy stem and a rosette of basal leaves. The basal leaves are obovate in shape and can reach up to 20 cm in length, while the stem leaves are smaller and alternate. The flowers, which bloom from May to October, are small and yellow, measuring up to 8 mm in diameter.
